Although born in the Rio Grande Valley of south Texas, I have lived in Austin since I was in junior high school and consider Austin to be home. In 1991 I graduated from Yale University with a B.A. in art with a focus in graphic design. I have been working as a graphic designer and illustrator in Austin ever since. I am overeducated and underambitious. Is that a word? It is now.
Other than art and design, my interests and passions include photography, movies, progressive causes — especially full equality for all Americans, and geeky things like Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings, and The Hobbit. Satire along the lines of The Onion, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart or The Colbert Report inspire me. I like television that’s smart, witty and tells a good story, like True Blood, Sherlock, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Firefly. I also enjoy irreverent fare like Tosh.0, The Simpsons, and Family Guy. I am a fan of correct grammar, punctuation, and other endangered species.
I tend to develop crushes on the adorkable guys like Andrew Garfield or Giles Matthey. But the hunky and suave Daniel Craig is an all-time favorite. When it comes to finding the right guy, all I want is his undivided attention, his never-ending affection, and an ironclad guarantee that i am the center of his universe. That’s not too much to ask, is it?
“It happens that I was born with an intense and insatiable interest in ideas, and thus like to play with them.” –H.L. Mencken
